New to collection Sd50 kg dropped on Eastbourne

Collected this little beauty last weekend, some lovely drop damage and mint untouched condition (see photos) also some lovely stamps and dated 1938 so a nice early one. This Sd50 is known to have been dropped on Eastbourne in Sussex and was displayed in a pub for many years after the war, it could in fact be from a raid where the Luftwaffe hit several pubs in the town of Eastbourne in one night, the press nick named the raid "the pub crawl". Apparently there is a photo of a UXB Sd50 in the doorway of a pub in Eastbourne after this particular raid - could be this very bomb! it would make sense that it was displayed inside the pub after being rendered safe by Bomb Disposal - perhaps in exchange for a pint or two!. Photo was in the Eastbourne at War book published just after the war, hopefully I can track down a copy. Interestingly there is a small gold band painted around the top this maybe from it's days when it was displayed the pub? if anyone has any further info, needless to say I would love to hear from you.

Every time I go into a Pub now, I'll be looking for a SD50...

How far will you be going with the Restoration?

I wish every pub I went in had a nice 50kg, think I would have a fair few by now!

I have just put some gun oil on it, given it a light clean, cleaned out the thread and fitted a lifting eye and have also wound in some fuze locking rings, they went in by hand, doesn't get much better than that. I won't repaint this one as will most likely loose the stamps under the paint.
