If any one has a spare scew on transit cap for this I would be
glad to here of it.

Brass body marked; WC 12-43 Lot 90 , 98462
it's made for a screw on cap, but doesn't mean one was used. But here is one with a can and is seems not to have threads ?
Mine beside a 206. I guess the answer is if some one does have a 208 marked screw cap then it exisits, it's a Navy thing I guess.
