Just got a 1942 dtd No. 501 BD Fuze. I did a search but nada. My question is twofold; how common are they and what other ordnance were they used in besides the 4.7" SAP if any? Thanks, Bruce.

Hi Bruce, certainly not common at all and used on 12-pr to 4.7-in and 5.25-in SAP. Introduced in 1931 for Naval Service and 1932 for Land Service. It had a larger and more powerful magazine than the No. 500 fuze, which it replaced. Depotman.

Pictures of the fuse. Please forgive the tape. It's holding on the caps that cover the centrifugal detents. Cheers, Bruce.
