No. 55 fuze confirmation

This fuze came in a 15pdr projectile. I think it is a No. 55 Mk II, but I'm looking for confirmation.

It's marked: II* R↑L 12/9? 165 and graduated 0 - 18. Unusually the time ring is flat as others I have seen are rounded.

I assume it had a hex nut on top and someone has just burred over the thread to retain the dome cap. Also a ham-fisted novice has filed the upper part of the 1" tapered thread down at some stage presumably to make it fit into a tight thread.

Can someone please confirm that this is a No. 55 or suggest an alternative?

Thanks, Graeme

Yes I think someone has cut a couple of threads off the top and peened it over to retain the domed cap. I think it should have had an hexagonal retaining nut on top - which is where the fuze type is often stamped.
