Hello a quick question regarding the No1 mk1 family of grenades..
Is the striker/needle top peened over ?
Have attached a drawing to show ..
Thanks for looking
Allan
Hi Spotter,
This is the one I have. Maybe the top of the striker was damaged when I cleaned it with a violent automatic wire brush (!). This part is made of steel so very rusty.
I'm very proud of this grenade (the wood handle is missing) because I found it in the Somme in British tunnels near the mine crater of La Boisselle (Lochnagar crater).
Im close to finishing the no1 im restoring but more questions .
I know the length of the streamers but can anyone tell me how wide they are please.
Thank you
Allan
