Not a good idea to touch a funnel-web spider (not funnel spider).
They live in burrows and under rocks with silk threads funnelling out from the entrance. They can kill.
We have trap-door spiders in Victoria that look similar and have a lid on their burrows. They rear up the fromt legs if found in the open. Nasty too.
