Hi
I'm after honest opinions advice on the grenade pictured . It bought it with no finish, (paint or shellac on it ) , is this a training grenade or just been de-activated by drilling holes around it ? The holes look to me as if they have been very professionally filled with serrated pegs .
I bought natural shellac cleaned the it off and dipped it , the first result was a disaster it turned green ? , so I cleaned it off , heated the grenade up re dipped it and it came out as the photo which I was quite pleased with .
I have other Grenades , would you re-finish those or leave them as is , a couple have blackened off with age which I was going to leave but a couple looks as if they unfinished , your thoughts are appreciated .
This is the first time I have done something on these lines , so bear with me .
Cheers
Dave
