Shipping, South Africa to UK

Anyone have any experience of being shipped empty cases from South Africa to UK?
Any problems experienced with either Customs?
Was the mail reliable and trackable?

I once tried shipping some items to South Africa and they never arrived.

I have had packages come from South Africa also. They had been opened by SA customs, but arrived otherwise intact.

I managed to get a copper covered mills grenade from south Africa.
It was sent DHL and border force had opened it and had a good rummage .
All taped back up and sent on to me .repackaged slightly.
