Hi all, had three new Frags arrive today. A current Swiss HG85, Vietnam era Singaporean SFG75 and a 2009 production M67 trainer with matching can. The Swiss don't use the safety clip on the HG85, its just on it for the pic. Heres a pic of the HG and SFG and also one of part of the collection with the '09 M67 on the far right. Hope you guys like them!

Hi Paul, here is a better pic of the M67.

Miguel, I collect US Frags primarily, but I also have an interest in modern Frags from different parts of the world.

Hey Paul, the extra clip is called a "Confidence Clip". There has been a big problem with taping grenades for reasons ranging from fear, to being ordered to apply the tape, to something as simple as trying to stop the pull ring from chattering and giving away positions. This has resulted in a few accidents in which the pin was pulled when the tape was removed. Also, often times the tape will either obscure or otherwise damage the lot numbers which renders the grenade unserviceable. The clip is supposed to be a simple solution to all of these problems.

All new production M67's are manufactured with the Confidence Clip and the remaining 500,000 existing in inventory are set to be retrofitted with the new clip.

The markings are the new style and M67's will be marked this way from here on out. Though the markings on live versions may well be yellow.

I met Justin in the very early stages of his 'nade collecting. Look at him now! A MAJOR collection, in anybody's book. Premium specimens.

Makes me wanna hide my stuff in shame.

No way Rick! You have great stuff, and A LOT of it! I'd be on cloud 9 digging stuff up in the Ord Hut! But thanks for your comments. I really love this stuff, never gets old!

Greetings from New Zealand fro a "Newbie" collector, wanting to start a Vietnam Frag collection, and would be EXTREMELY gratefull if anybody can advise where on earth I start looking for my first M57 or M67 Frags? Many Thanks. Shorty
 
Awsome collection,I agree grenade collecting and ordanace never gets old,I have been acumalating grenade and ordanace items over 30 years ,and had one collection stolen and still can,t hardly sleep before a show,because of excitment in antisapaction of finding something new for the collection,its almost a diesease.

Welcome Shorty and congrats on your decision to start a Vietnam frag collection! As someone who is new to this hobby, you are fortunate to have come to the right place. There is an incredible amount of invaluble data and experience here.

The first and best thing you can do to get a good start is read through some of the other threads in the grenade section. There have been some very good and informative threads on Vietnam grenades lately. You need to learn about the different types and configurations of frags used throughout the era. It will help you learn to identify the different types and will also save you from making costly mistakes.

If you find something but are unsure about it's originality or configuration, by all means post pics and ask. There are plenty of members here who can tell you what you are looking at in a split second. If you want to PM me, feel free, I'll give you a crash course in Lemons and Baseballs. For now, go to the thread link below, this would be a great place to start! Good luck!

Thanks Vinny, it means a lot. My collection is pretty small compared to many of of our fellow members, but it's my pride and joy and I feel very fortunate to have what I do.

I'm very sorry to hear that you had a collection stolen. I can't imagine having to deal with that! But it's great that you stuck with it despite such a monumental setback. It is indeed a fun and exciting hobby and it's an amazing feeling when you find one of the elusive pieces that you have been after. It's a good disease!
