Rick,
as a SF Vietnam War historian, I can tell you that the emblem on the second hat will probably not give you any trouble. Unless you were to wear it around Fort Bragg. When I wear an "Unofficial Hat" with that emblem or something else related to SF I just tell them that like in football, basketball, and baseball, they (SF) are my favorite team. FWIW.
NOTE: Always tell them that you were never in SF and that should keep you out of the "Want-to-be" category. Again FWIW.
