Todays Surprize Problem 105mm --- HELP

I have a 105 How. projectile, mainly because I used to fire them. It is a projectile
used to test paint adhesion (I posted this some time ago) . Ever since I have been
looking for a fuze to complete it. I finally got one and guess what, it just sits in the
top of the projectile. Because the projectile body was never filled it has no fuze sleeve !
I never thought of that one ~ Is there anyone out there that can machine a one inch
or so long sleeve to fill the gap out of anything ? Not a postage problem because it's just a bushing.
Help

It needs a booster screwed to the fuze.

I posted the fuze separately in fuzes - it doesn't seem to take a booster ?
Hi
I agree with you that is looks like a M557 or at least it's in that series...M48, M51 etc so in order to fit an HE shell it would need a booster.... from memory a M125A1. Did you fire M2A2 105mm Howitzers ?

Yes I did fire them in the 70s, the issue is the fit and what appears to be a missing fuze well. I'm wondering if I have a mortar version of the fuze ?
It's clearly complete without a booster. There was in the projectiles a removable tetyol supplimentory charge if I recall under the fuze.
That had to be removed to fit a cvt fuze. Those rounds came plugged (if planned for on excersize) when those fuzes were to be used which came in a box of 6.
We didn't fire them often and used mechanical time fuzes moe often and the M557 most of the time. The closest I ever got to the HEAT projectile was on a poster
in the regimantal office.
In the end if I can't resolve the fit issue I'll likely just move the projectile along and keep the fuze for some future deal as I likely paid too much for it as
happens now and again.
