Hi, Could anybody help with this one please, a friend as asked if i could find out what this is for him, it looks Russian to me, the threads are roughly 50mm any help would be much appreciated.

I Think i have answered my own question could it be a Russian WWI 45-seconds double-action Time Fuze for 122mm shrapnel shell.
