West Point Academy (1826 Egg Nog riot)

It has changed quite a bit since those days. Unique characters are not tolerated at all.

The current cheating scandal is disappointing. I saw nothing like that during my four years there.

I would even argue that the impact of the Academy on the Army is minimal since 90% of the officers come from other universities.

Go I understand correctly that 90% of active US Army officers come from something other than West Point Academy? Just curious.
 
That was my understanding. Only ten percent of active duty US Army officers were West Point graduates. I have not revisited that number in a few decades. Just think of how many universities have an ROTC training program.
