I have only found one example of the No7 Pistol. in Australia. I say rather hard to find. Dated 1918.

Well, this may be the 2nd example:


No markings, stamps nor dates - which initially lead me to believe it was most likely to be a US-made one as the US adopted the 20lb Coopers bomb in WW1, which was later developed into the US 25lb bomb with a Mark XII nose fuze.

Interesting enough, it has a Whitworth thread rather than a standard metric ISO thread , perhaps indicating a US manufactured No 7 export for the British rather than for US service? (similar to the P14 Pattern rifle made in .303 cal under contract in the US during WW1) Or did the US initailly adapt the British design (& threads) for both export and US service?

BTW - It was sold as a "German WW2 Buzz bomb fuze" - a long time ago!
